Wealth Repellent: The "Money Isn't Everything" Syndrome
Have you ever caught yourself acting as if wealth was unimportant, or even disdainful, but deep down inside you felt a twinge of guilt or discomfort about it? Most often this happens when your words and actions don't match your true feelings.
For example, if your friend said to you, "Last night I read an article about a man who went from complete poverty to winning $10 million in the lottery" would you feel a twinge of jealousy and quickly utter the comment, "Money isn't everything". What if your neighbors recently finished building their dream home and it just happens to be your style of dream home too; would you try to downplay your desire by saying, "A big home isn't everything"?
When situations like these stir up negative emotion within you and you try shrugging it off by saying "Money isn't everything" you end up doing more harm than good to your wealth consciousness.
It's true that money isn't "everything". There are many things in life that are much more valuable - but we also can't deny that money can afford us many great things and allow a deeper, more fulfilling life experience.
The problem with trying to diminish wealth and abundance is that deep down inside you feel conflicted. You want to be wealthy. You want to have plenty of money. You want that dream home. You want everything that wealth would allow you to have, and when you try to negate these desires all you do is end up feeling frustrated because you believe you can't have what you want.
Overcoming this "money isn't everything" syndrome is easier than you might think, and it starts with changing your own perception of wealth and abundance.
Start feeling good about wealth in all of its expressions, whether those expressions appear in your own life or someone else's.
Feel happy when you see that someone is doing well. Mentally bless the man who won the lottery. Feel happy for his good fortune.
Bless your neighbors and imagine how happy they will be in their new home. Send them a card of congratulations!
Most importantly, keep affirming that your own good fortune is on the way too. Keep saying to yourself, "They are abundant and so am I!" "They have great things happening in their lives, and so do I!" "Just as they allowed wealth into their lives, so can I!"
These statements will feel so good that you will completely transform the way you see wealth and abundance. No longer will it be something you want but can't have. No longer will it be something to feel jealous about. No longer will seeing others with it make you feel deprived or unworthy. You'll rejoice over every wealth example you see, and consequently keep drawing more and more wealth into your own life too.
